As with working out, improving your game requires commitment and consistent action. The Personal Golf Coaching program is like having a personal trainer for Golf training. The program consists of a combination of indoor, outdoor, and on-course instruction. Each client will receive a personally developed program designed to make an impact on their golf game in time for Spring. The program will look different for each golfer depending on their needs. An example of a program could consist of one lesson a week for 15 weeks and a few playing lessons. Or it could be 12 lessons, a few playing lessons, and a Pro-Am. It will all depend on the players needs and their goals.
In addition, Golf Coaching clients will have access to digital locker with unlimited swing video analysis and data from previous sessions. Consulting will be provided on all your golf needs -- planning golf trips, assisting with setting up groups for casual or competitive play, advice on equipment, complimentary club fittings, advice on golf courses to play, and anything golf related. As a Personal Golf Coaching client, you will also have priority scheduling.

In 2014, he accepted a position at Lookaway Golf Club, where he became certified in Teaching and Coaching through the PGA of America and won several awards, including 4 Player of the Year titles and 15+ tournaments.
In 2021, Michael co-founded Makefield Putters, where he built and design putters, create new technology, and collaborate with putting coaches. Throughout his career, Michael has continually sought to further his education through seminars and his network of professionals. He is known for his ability to play, teach and coach students to become better golfers and believes in learning from others in order to improve his own teaching style.
In 2022, Michael founded Clubhouse 54, an exclusive indoor golf studio that provides cutting-edge golf technology to cater the needs of avid golfers seeking to enhance their skills in the company of like-minded individuals. Michael has orchestrated a series of engaging sessions, hosting both group and individual discussions with PGA Professionals and PGA Tour players at Clubhouse 54. These instructional conversations offer a unique learning environment.
What are Michael's core beliefs on style of teaching that have helped his students become better players?
The teacher-student relationship is the most important part of good golf instruction and positive learning environments. It is vital to take the time to get to know your student and make sure that you have some chemistry before going on to future lessons.
Each student should have goals that will set the pace for the lesson and future lessons. Every student is different so goals should be tailored for each student. Goal-setting is the best way to measure a student’s progress and to determine next steps.
Golf can be played at almost any age and at any skill level. Every golfer I have encountered has always asked me, “What is it that makes the game so hard?” My answer is always the same - It’s only as hard as the golfer makes it to be.
Every golfer should have their own par for the course. Set a Par to the course based on your skill level and goals. When I played in the PGA Playing Ability test I set par for the course at 78 (6-over). I did this to relive pressure and make the game easier. When making your own par for the course will help you set more realistic goals and play the golf course to your ability. By practicing your own par, you will see that you will start to enjoy and play the game better.

I use Quintic Ball Roll for all of my putter fittings and lessons. This innovative device captures club and ball data using a 720-fps high-speed camera, and also uses stickers on the club that do not affect swing weight or feel.
I have found that Quintic Ball Roll is the only device that consistently delivers accurate and reliable ball roll numbers. When working with players who are learning or being fit on other putting devices, I often see the same issues with poor ball roll numbers. This is why many players seek additional help - they know they are stroking it to the best of their ability and a putter that is fit to their body, but they still struggle to make putts.
Quintic Ball Roll allows me to identify the root cause of these issues and make adjustments to help players improve their ball roll numbers and ultimately make more putts. It's no wonder that the best players and coaches in the world use Quintic - when I first saw it in action, I immediately understood its value and so will you.
Can you make the line on your golf ball roll straight but still don’t make putts and always wonder why? Contact me to find out!
The Golf Swing
The Golf Swing
As a golf instructor, my approach centers on embracing the diversity of instructional styles within the sport. I firmly believe in cultivating a comprehensive understanding of these various approaches to better serve my students. By fostering awareness and unveiling the intricacies of their swing patterns, I empower players to comprehend the cause and effect behind their shots, expediting their progress. Nathaniel Branden's words, "The first step towards change is awareness, the second is acceptance," resonate deeply with my teaching philosophy.
To facilitate this process effectively, I continuously educate myself on a spectrum of teaching methodologies, technological advancements, club fitting techniques, and draw from my personal playing experiences. This holistic approach allows me to seamlessly align with my students' unique tendencies, offering tailored guidance that suits their learning style and goals.
Recognizing that each student possesses a distinct learning pace and style, I prioritize patience and encouragement in my instruction. Together, we set achievable milestones, ensuring that every step forward is meaningful and progress is both noticeable and rewarding. With this personalized and supportive approach, I'm committed to guiding every student towards improving their game, regardless of their starting point.
I believe 70% of all mistakes made in the golf swing start with the set-up (Pre-Swing Fundamentals) -- Grip, Aim and Posture:
The position and pressure of the hands influence the position of the arms and shoulders at address and during the swing. Grip pressure, should always be the same. Different body types will require different hand positions on a grip; the grip should never be to open faced or closed faced.
Aim is very important as it is the direction you want the ball to go in. You always want to aim your clubface to your intended target.
Posture is the determining factor to how we move our body around our spine. A good posture will help produce the maximum amount of power a golfer can generate. Good posture means being in an athletic position (ready position), knees slightly bent, spine tilt from the waist and arms hanging straight down (relaxed).
You don’t have to be at a golf course to practice your Pre-Swing fundamentals. I make sure I always have a golf club at home and will grip it when I have time. Whenever I see a mirror, I stop and get in my golf set-up to make sure I am in the proper positions. Find ways to be creative to practice even when you’re not at the course and you will find yourself playing better golf before you know it.
